Mint Green Preemie Blanket

 This is a simple crochet blanket that works up nicely. It looks like tiny shells and there are no holes for tiny fingers to get trapped in.

The pattern is simple

Pattern is in US terms

Dc = Double crochet

Sc = Single crotchet

Sk1 = skip 1

Chain odd number of stitches.

In 2nd chain from the hook *Sc, Dc in same stitch, skip 1 repeat from * across the row. Sc in last stitch.

Ch 1 Turn

Sc and Dc in first stitch, * sk1, Sc, Dc in same stitch repeat from * across end sk1 and Sc in last stitch.

It is really pretty and this measures 24 x 21 inches.

I added one row of single crochet as a border to give it a finished look.

My next blanket is going to be knitted.

Preemie Blanket Number 1

 This is the first preemie blanket I have made after handing over the others to the Hospital.

The lady I saw loved the blankets I had made and said they are happy to accept different colours.

This one is white as I have plenty of white yarn.

I used a So Wooly pattern  called Tiles Stitch.

TILES STITCH along with this I used a Chain Edge that is so easy to do and it makes a lovely neat edge.

CHAINED EDGES

This is the result.

This is a close up of the stitch.

This was easy to do and very relaxing. I love how it creates interest and the yarn I used works up to be so soft. I used 5mm needles with DK yarn so it has a lovely drape.
This is the edge

It is hard to see but I think you can just about make out the V along the edge.

I am now embarking on a Mint Green Preemie Crochet Blanket using a pattern I have used before as it is simple and makes a lovely No Holes blanket..

Neck Warmer

 I wanted to make something that was quick and easy to do.

I hunted through my crochet patterns and settled on something simple. The pattern is called Circle Scarfie and can be found here.

Circle Scarfie

You can download the pattern free, I seldom buy a pattern as there are so many beautiful patterns that can be obtained free of charge.

The pattern used a heavier weight yarn to make the scarf. I used DK weight yarn that would make a lovely quick neck warmer.

You make the scarf/neck warmer in a strip then join the two ends together. I joined mine using blanket stitch as I like the effect.

This took one evening to make so a quick project for a last minute gift. This one in the box for MK Friends.

Granny Block Blanket

This is a lovely pattern that is easy to do and creates a lovely effect.

GRANNY BLOCK BLANKET

The pattern is written in UK terms but there is a guide to US terms as well.

This is a close up of the pattern

The blanket measures 27 x 38 inches. I made it for someone to use in a chair or wheelchair for MK Friends.
I wanted blocks of colour as it means less ends to sew in. I added a simple border to create a more finished look.

This would look nice in a wider range of colours alternating between 2 rows but it would make for a lot of sewing in of ends which is fiddly and sometimes I don't want fiddly.
